Student Membership is open to registered students (of Cambridge University - and elsewhere if full time and at a non-commercial institution); Non-Student Membership, with restricted sailing and windsurfing opportunities, is open to others associated with the University or with the City (but subject to General Committee confirmation and the member being able to help the Club in some way such as providing transport or instructing); and Alumni Supporter status is open to all those who want to keep in touch with and support the Club, but do not wish to participate in sailing or windsurfing activities.

The current student membership fee is 50 and the Alumni Supporter 'fee' is a voluntary donation to the Club's Boat and Board Fund. The only regular cost for sailing and windsurfing at Grafham, after your membership fee, is for transport to and from Grafham Water - normally 5. For non-members there is a temporary membership fee of 10 (half-day) or 15 (full-day) when joining in on a Club trip to Grafham where all the available spaces have not been taken by members.

If you are not sure, you can participate in a half-day taster session at Grafham Water during the first Saturday or Sunday of the Michaelmas Term for only 15 - including transport costs - and 10 will be knocked off your membership fee if you join the Club before the end of October! Note that participation in team racing, windsurfing, and other events away from Cambridge involves entry fees, transport costs, and food (and sometimes accommodation). Sign up for a Taster Weekend session or membership at the Club's membership management website (opens in a new window). Otherwise, use this online form (opens in a new window) to put yourself on our emailing list.

  • Team Racing squad membership runs on a cost basis. You pay entry and travel costs for the events you participate in, plus accommodation for some major events. Further details are published on the Team Racing website (opens in a new window).
  • Dinghy Sailing activities involve the cost of travel to Grafham Water, and you may decide to buy some of your own gear. There is also a charge for certificated RYA training courses run in conjunction with Grafham Water SC. Further details are published on the Dinghy Sailing page of the Team Racing website (opens in a new window).
  • Windsurfing activities involve the cost of travel to Grafham Water and coastal locations, and you may decide to buy some of your own gear. • Alumni Supporter status joins you to the alumni network and puts you on the circulation list for alumni newsletters. It does NOT grant you access any of the sailing or voting rights associated with Club membership. Further details are published on the Alumni website (opens in a new window).
